This project involved: the construction of a two-story steel and block building to house a new boiler and associated water systems; and the design and construction of a concrete foundation to support a syrup silo which holds 100,000 lbs. This relatively straightforward project was made more complex by Polar’s need to continue with daily operational activities during construction. The project work had to be planned around water delivery trucks that arrived every two hours, dropping off 10,000 to 12,000 gallons of spring water. CKA crews had to complete the work without interrupting Polar’s soda and water production schedule. Construction was completed on budget, on time, and without disruption to the production facility.
